Newlyweds flying in to surprise family for Easter die when their private plane crashes into a hillside in Scotland


David and Dr Margaret-Ann Rous (left) - who had been married for less than a year - died while heading from their home in Dundee to visit relatives on the Hebridean isle of Tiree. They were flying in Mr Rous's Piper Cherokee to spend the weekend on the island where Dr Rous (pictured, right, on her wedding day) grew up.
But radar contact was lost at around 1.50pm on Saturday in the remote Beinn Lus area of Glen Kinglass, near Oban. Six hours later the wreckage of the plane was discovered along with their bodies after a massive search involving Coastguard and Royal Navy rescue helicopters and an air ambulance.See more photos after the cut...
Lives cut short: It is understood the couple were moving to a larger house and were planning to start a family

Surprise visit to see family: The couple were flying in Mr Rous's Piper Cherokee from Dundee, where they lived, to Tiree, where Dr Rous grew up, to spend the weekend with her mother and sister

Scouring the landscape: A Coastguard search and rescue helicopter, a Royal Navy helicopter from HMS Gannet and an air ambulance were all scrambled to make a search after radar contact with the plane was lost
