Federal Government Declares Friday 3rd April and Monday 6th April as public holidays in Nigeria

2015 Elections: Professor Attahiru Jega, Nigerian Security Chiefs & President Goodluck Jonathan In Crucial Meeting

 Friday 3rd April, and Monday 6th April was declared public holidays by the Federal Government in commemoration of  the death and resurrection of our lord Jesus Christ respectively. The Minister of Interior, Abba Moro, made the declaration in a statement issued on his behalf in Abuja by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Abubakar Magaji. In the statement, Moro enjoined all Christians and Nigerians in general to exhibit the spiritual benefits of the Easter celebrations in their daily living. He said: "such benefits include love, peace, justice and kindness" While wishing Nigerians happy celebrations, the minister urged them to use the occasion to pray for peace and unity in the country.
