Calais camps in France to be bulldozed: Migrants given ultimatum to remove belongings by end of March or be forced out by riot police

Calais officials will begin bulldozing migrant camps around the port city at the end of this month following the opening of a new refugee centre (file image)

Calais authorities have issued ultimatum to over 2000 illegal migrants living in shanty towns to vacate the shanty towns.This is as a result of a new camp built by the Calais authorities to temporarily accommodate women and children until they are able to find their way to the UK.
The migrants have been given up till  end of march 2015 to vacate or face being forcefully evicted by riot Police.See more photos after the cut....

The Jules Ferry Centre (pictured), currently houses 50 women and children and is preparing to house up to 20 more. The remaining 1,930 immigrants will be housed on wasteland next to it

The new centre has been dubbed Sangatte 2, named after a previous Red Cross centre (pictured) which housed migrants close to the French end of the Channel Tunnel until it was destroyed in 2002
